Metrc

Metrc LLC provides cannabis track-and-trace systems to regulators from an office in Lakeland, Florida. The company says it pioneered Colorado's system in 2011 and reports about 29 regulatory contracts and more than 500,000 users. Its contracts are held with state and territorial governments, and licensees in those jurisdictions report through the Metrc system. Its site carries separate benefit pages for government and for industry, a support portal and Metrc Learn training.

Its partner portals cover Alabama, Alaska, California, Colorado, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Virginia and West Virginia, plus the District of Columbia, Guam and the US Virgin Islands. The platform uses RFID tags, Retail ID consumer QR codes for product and recall information, and an Open API with a Validated Integrators program for third-party software. In August 2025 Metrc announced a strategic partnership with BioTrack, whose government business now operates as BT Government, Inc. Operators sign in through their state portal and train through Metrc Learn, and third-party software connects through the Open API.
