The Leaf Register is a business publication that covers cannabis — not a cannabis site that dabbles in business. It does three things: lists the companies that make the industry run, verifies that they’re real and current, and — soon — reports the news worth a working operator’s time.

Why another directory

Most cannabis directories quietly died: stale listings, dead links, pay-to-play ordering, no way to tell a real company from a shell. The Register starts from the opposite premise. Every listing is checked against a live site before it appears, every entry shows when it was last checked, and the earned order on the page comes from verification, not payment — any sponsored placement we add later is labeled as such, never disguised as organic ranking. When a business shuts down, its listing is flagged and removed rather than left to mislead.

What’s here today, and what’s next

Today the Register covers B2B vendors — retail technology, operations and supply chain, professional services — plus licensed dispensaries, cultivators, and brands across the US and Canada. Companies can claim their listings free. Coming next: domain verification for claimed listings, license-verification against state and provincial registers, and The Register Brief, a weekly news brief on the business of cannabis.

Editorial standards

The Register speaks in one institutional voice — no bylines, no personas. Claims carry sources. Dates are written out. The word “verified” is load-bearing here: it is never used loosely, and the verification policy says exactly what it means. Corrections are welcomed and acted on — file one any time.

Ownership

The Register’s operator is named in the terms of service, and any listing with a material connection to the operator carries a disclosure directly on the page. Independence isn’t claimed — it’s disclosed.
