The Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC) is the exclusive legal retailer of cannabis in Quebec, operating a network of about 109 stores across the province alongside an online store at sqdc.ca. It sells flower, edibles, vapes, concentrates, beverages, topicals and accessories sourced from Health Canada-licensed producers, and returns profits to the Quebec government.
The SQDC was created in 2018, ahead of federal cannabis legalization, with the Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ) mandated by the Quebec government to set up its retail and supply operations. It remains a Crown corporation distinct from privately owned retailers in other provinces, and does not manufacture or brand its own cannabis products.
