Nova Cannabis (Value Buds)

Nova Cannabis Inc. was an Alberta-based, TSX-listed cannabis retailer until SNDL Inc. completed a plan of arrangement on October 21, 2024, acquiring the roughly 34.8 percent of shares it did not already own for C$1.75 in cash or 0.58 of an SNDL share per Nova share. Nova was delisted and became a wholly owned SNDL subsidiary, with an amalgamation into SNDL planned.

SNDL reports 127 Value Buds stores in its cannabis retail segment, alongside five Cost Cannabis stores and 60 Spiritleaf locations, which are tracked as a separate banner. Value Buds stores operate in Alberta, Ontario, British Columbia and Saskatchewan and sell flower, vapes, pre-rolls, edibles, concentrates and accessories, with a Rise Rewards loyalty program and online ordering.

For licensed producers and brands, Value Buds is a large value-oriented shelf in four provinces. Supplier relationships run through SNDL's retail purchasing team, and brand partners are listed on valuebuds.com.
