Headset was founded in 2015 by Cy Scott (CEO), Scott Vickers (CTO) and Brian Wansolich (CDO), who previously co-founded the cannabis consumer site Leafly in 2010. The company is headquartered in Seattle. It builds its data from two sources: point-of-sale records from directly connected retailers, which its pages put at more than 3,500 in some places and more than 4,000 in others, and daily menu and e-commerce data from more than 10,000 online endpoints across 50 legal markets in the US and Canada. Its homepage says the dataset goes back 11 years and that it tracks live menus at 11,280 dispensaries.

Retailer is the dispensary product. It shows real-time sales by product, category, brand and employee, suggests reorders from sell-through speed, builds customer segments from purchase behavior for targeted campaigns, and benchmarks a store against nearby dispensaries with a Sales Efficiency Index. It also measures which discounts make money and schedules staff to match traffic. Retailer Premium adds deeper inventory, marketing and staff tools; Ask Retailer is an AI agent that answers plain-language questions; and Competitive Intelligence compares pricing and assortment with nearby stores. Through Bridge, a store can share its data with chosen brands for replenishment.

Headset says it has written integrations for more than 30 cannabis POS systems. Data can also flow into Snowflake through its Vault product or into AI assistants through an MCP connector, and all products run under SOC 2 controls. Headset does not publish pricing; retailers talk to its sales team. Brands, investors and analysts buy its market data, so dispensaries should ask how their own store data is used before connecting.
