Calyx Containers

Calyx Containers manufactures cannabis packaging in-house rather than reselling retrofitted pharmacy stock, making it a vertically integrated producer of child-resistant rigid plastic drams and jars, glass concentrate containers, pre-roll tubes, flexible mylar pouches, its proprietary Calyx Cure post-harvest curing line, custom digitally printed labels, and tamper-evident shrink bands. The company says it shipped the first rigid, child-resistant container engineered specifically for cannabis in 2016, and continues to run its own CR testing and certification process rather than outsourcing production overseas.

Co-founded by CEO Simon Knobel and President Alex Gonzalez (who met at Babson College) in 2016, Calyx is headquartered and manufactures out of the Salt Lake City, Utah metro area (West Valley City), where it recently expanded its 17,000-sq-ft facility to bring more production onshore. The privately held company is a 2023 Inc. 5000 honoree and reports serving 250+ cannabis brands nationwide, including Trulieve, Curaleaf, and Ayr Wellness.
