Vitalis Equipment Technology

Vitalis designs and manufactures carbon dioxide-based equipment at 3446 Spectrum Avenue in Kelowna, British Columbia. Founded in 2016, it says it was among the first to make large-scale supercritical CO2 extraction of natural ingredients accessible. It is part of the KKVB Group of Companies, a refrigeration and HVAC group with 65 years of history and more than ten companies, and names TEKO as a sister company. In June 2025 it changed its legal name from Vitalis Extraction Technology Inc. to Vitalis Equipment Technology Inc. Most of its site now covers R744 chillers, heat pumps and refrigeration racks; extraction is one product family among several.

For processors, Vitalis offers the semi-automated PrimeEx Q-Series and R-Series CO2 extractors and the automated Polaramax line, in Hero, Legend and Pro models, for CO2 and multi-solvent extraction. A Cosolvent Injection System adds small amounts of ethanol to CO2 runs; Vitalis says it can raise daily throughput by up to 233 percent over CO2 alone and does not need a special room. The Airo refinement family automates chilling, dewaxing, decoloring and desolvation, and the Airo D-3 is rated to dewax and decolor up to 125 liters of crude solution in under four hours in about 55 square feet of a non-classified room.

Vitalis says it still designs, builds and services extraction vessels rated up to 4,800 psi, and it sells CO2 recovery systems that capture and reuse carbon dioxide. Its Complete Solutions page addresses cannabis operators directly and offers referrals for pre-processing, post-processing and testing equipment. It runs a free assessment for buyers considering used Vitalis equipment from a third party, and sells service and support packages. The site quotes a Curaleaf research and innovation executive among its customers. Vitalis does not publish pricing.
