Root Sciences describes itself as a distributor and integrator of extraction and post-processing equipment for cannabis and hemp processing facilities. It dates itself to 2015 and says it was founded by entrepreneurs who had cultivated cannabis in the US and Canada. It reports that its equipment is in use at more than 400 processors worldwide. Its team page names Fadi Yashruti as chief executive officer, Sam Kassem as chief financial officer and Marcus Tillson as chief operations officer. The site does not state a headquarters address; contact is by phone, email or form, with office hours listed in Pacific time.

Rather than building one machine, Root Sciences assembles lines from partner manufacturers. Its distillation business grew from a partnership with VTA, a German thin-film process engineer, and it also sells UIC distillation systems. With DEVEX it developed the CryoEXS, an all-in-one cold-ethanol extraction system, and it cites a partnership with GEA for cannabinoid beverage and edible manufacturing.
