Dutchie Pay by Bank

Pay by Bank is the payments product of Dutchie, the cannabis retail software company that launched in Bend, Oregon in 2017 with three dispensaries. Dutchie's about page says it now works with more than 6,500 dispensaries and has processed over $100 billion in transactions, and names Tiger Global, Howard Schultz, Casa Verde Capital and Gron Ventures among its investors. Pay by Bank runs inside the same platform as Dutchie's POS, e-commerce, kiosk and loyalty products; the POS and e-commerce products have their own listings in this directory. The site does not state a current headquarters address.

Shoppers connect a bank account once, which Dutchie says takes under a minute and works with more than 12,000 banks, then pay with one tap online, in store or at Dutchie kiosks, with tipping built into checkout. Transactions batch at the end of each day and settle the next business day. Dutchie states that Pay by Bank covers 100% of chargeback liability, so the dispensary carries none. A reporting and reconciliation dashboard ties payments to Dutchie POS. Dutchie's own anonymized figures claim about 2 million shoppers use it, a 31% higher average order than cash, and 57% fewer cancellations on prepaid online orders.

Pay by Bank is sold to dispensaries that run Dutchie software rather than as a standalone processor, and the first step is a demo request. Dutchie does not publish Pay by Bank fees.
